Alaska residents went to the polls Tuesday to vote on a ballot initiative that, if passed, would have ended the state's predator control program as now conducted.

Alaska voters on Tuesday were rejecting ballot measures that would have created a Gaming Commission and that would have established a voluntary program of public funding for state election campaigns.

Alaskans were given an option when voting for an initiative in their primary election: mining or fish.
