A major fire broke out in Gallatin County early Wednesday morning. Over 50 firefighters and a dozen trucks battled the blaze which broke out up Sypes Canyon in Belgrade.

Gallatin County commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to settle two lawsuits brought by gravel mining operations against the county, bringing the companies one step closer to digging pits near Belgrade.
